Hello Spirit Lovers

Well what a busy few months we have had here at Alchymia Distillery, so much so we haven’t offered you an update for 3 months !!!

So what have we been upto… well we have increased our production schedule to keep up with demand from our amazing customers who continue to flow through the tasting room and distillery !! Our product range has now expanded to 3 Gins (soon to be 4 with the Christmas Gin recipe development in full swing) 2 Vodkas and of course our beautiful Single Malt Whisky!!  We now have over 350ltrs of our beautiful new make spirit lay down in a selection of different cask sizes and types and we have had a sneeky taste of our 6 month old new make from our first Bourbon cask and it is …..well bloody lovely!!

We have had our first Alchemist Academy Private Cask owner make their new make spirit back in April and Cathryn and hubby Leo come back at the beginning of Oct for their first tasting. Cathryn was so happy with the results she took home a 500ml bottle of her new make to enjoy!! Our Alchemist Academy Private Cask Experience is now booked out until next March!!

Then in August well we had our first ever Tas Whisky Week as Distillery owners and held an event that can only be described as amazing with the Ukele Scotsman on the music and our new local food truck Voices BBQ & Smokehouse on site with MPH doing tastings and tours in the distillery in 4 hours we had 120 people from far and wide come and support our event and it was an amazing day can’t wait to see how we can better it next year!!

In September we managed to take a week off although it did start with work and a great charity event at The Friends College in Hobart having been asked by our friend and mentor Mark Nicholson ‘Mr Nic’ to donate 20ltrs of our new make spirit to go into a 20l cask with 9 other Tasmanian distilleries to then be auctioned off for the cause! The rest of the week was a great chance to catch up with friends and colleagues in the trade visiting tasting rooms and of course what a hardship having to taste lots of Whisky!!!

We have had journalists and videographers here over the last few weeks building up to some exciting events next year here’s a link to a piece by Concrete Playground

A Northern Forage Road Trip: Follow a CP Writer’s Tasting Tour Across Tasmania’s North – Concrete Playground

and a quick video Youtube –  https://youtu.be/Gbba2NQqlRQ !!

The charity theme continued in Sept as we are sponsoring 2 Shitbox Rally teams The Van Demons who are doing the Rockhampton to Hobart event next March & Team Savage River 2 Tassie Boys who are as I type doing the Mackay to Darwin event this week !!  This great cause raises funds for Cancer Research and we are proud to be supporting these 2 local teams!

20th Nov we will welcome back the Van Diemens Thai food truck.

4th Dec is our next music event with Ukuele Scotman coming back supported with Thai food!!

Thanks again for your support it has been an amazing so far and so much more to come!!

Cheers
