Alchymia Distillery @ Table Cape February Update

by | Feb 21, 2023

Hello Spirit Lovers

Happy 2023!! Can you believe we are already half way through February! MPH and I had a week off over Christmas and New Year and had a great gathering on New Years Eve of locals who have become firm friends since our move to Table Cape nearly 3 years ago.

We then got straight back into it on the 6th January welcoming Kellie & Ken to the ‘Alchemist Academy Private Cask Experience’ MPH had made a very special addition to the cask for this one as it was a Christmas pressie for Kellie. Ken now knows what is involved in making Whisky and confirms that he “just prefers to drink it” he didn’t realise how technical it was!! So we will see these 2 back in July for their first private tasting!

Cheers Ken and Kellie.

The following week we welcomed Beth and Matt to the ‘Alchemist Academy Private Cask Experience’ these guys loved the detail and by the end of the experience they had a ‘new appreciation for small batch handcrafted Whisky’ alongside 90 litres of beautiful new make across 3 casks!! We look forward to seeing them at the end of September for their first tasting! Don’t they look proud!

January and February have been a great start to 2023 for us we were listed 6th in the Top 25 Best new Café’s and bars that opened in Tasmania in 2022!!

No idea who nominated us but thank you!!  We celebrated our 1st Birthday Party with some amazing customers thank you all for coming on the day MPH & I managed to be out with you saying thank you and enjoying the amazing music and food!! What will we do for our 2nd Birthday to top that??

We then appeared in the Delicious Magazine thanks to our involvement with this years Trail Graze event as part of the Tasting Trail Tasmania and the following week in Australian Country Magazine!!  Who would have thought it!!

We have launched the platter fridge and now have La Cantara & Red Cow Organics as our Cheese offerings, alongside Inglis River meats charcuterie and Top Fish pickled Octopus so drop in and grab what you fancy and we’ll make you up a local produce platter with crackers, olives and relish!!! Yum

NEW RELEASES

Introducing Fora-Gin (we know its as though someone used to be in marketing!!) This is a new addition to our Gin line up created for a friends wedding, we ‘foraged’ botanicals (fora-Gin get it)from right here on Table Cape – Kaffir Lime leaves, nasturtium flowers, lemon, lime, blackberries and our home grown and picked coriander seeds Its delicious and we are now putting it onto our regular production run! We will do a Fora-Gin release each season depending on what we can find!

Due soon 2023 – Alchymia Distillery Coffee Liqueur using coffee from the amazing Infuse Coffee in Burnie we have had an issue with the labels so sorry for the delay it will be here soon and it is still taking 36 hours to cold drip!! (we’ll need to work on that MPH)!! otherwise it will be the most expensive coffee liquor ever!!

Thanks again for your support and we hope to see you soon!!
