Alchymia Distillery Newsletter Feb 2024

by | Feb 24, 2024

Hello Spirit Lovers,

Well the New Year is off to a flying start! So a quick update on what’s been happening here at the Distillery on the beautiful NW Coast of Tassie!

NEWSFLASH – Our 1st Truly Tasmanian Single Malt Single Cask release is due to hit our tasting room at the end of March early April …We have been tasting our casks regularly over the last 6 months and are very excited to announce that our first release will be from a Heavens Hill Bourbon Cask. We are just finalising the name and of course we will do our release in a slightly different way … that little black book of ideas that is now 8yrs old has come up trumps again!! So we will email you all when we open EOI for you to secure your bottle of our 1st Truly Tasmanian Whisky.

Other Stuff…

MPH has completed the transformation of the old piggery into our bond store to hold all our casks while they quietly mature our new make spirit into amazing Single Cask Single Malt Whisky!  The new building has already hosted a number of our Alchemist Academy Private Cask members for their private tastings and the feedback has been awesome. It’s just a really relaxed space for our casks to chill out and mature gently.

There’s no rest for the wicked so no sooner was the Bond Store finished that MPH was onto the pizza oven project!! We fired up the new pizza oven on Christmas eve and have done a number of trials since and we are very excited so we’ve just got to invite council to change our food licence and then we will be on!! Keep an eye on the socials for the first official ‘fire up’!!

New Releases -Whisky Whisky Whisky….and then

Our Pink Gin is back on the shelves for summer and is selling very well we love how each batch is slightly different depending on the ripeness of the strawberries and raspberries that we use!

After the generous donation of 30kg of lemons from Mike in Boat Harbour our first Limoncello was released and I have to say when an Italian come in last week and left with 2 bottles we did a little victory lap around the distillery!! High praise indeed.

The Sherry cask that we age our Navy strength Gin in was sent to the new bond store and quickly forgotten with the Christmas and NY rush so this latest Cask Aged Gin release has been in the sherry cask for 9mths and well its just delightful!!

Blackberries are growing wild in the hedgerow on the block so this is our next test we are going to start playing with them next week so watch the socials for a new Blackberry Gin or Vodka coming soon!!

Our online Gin Shop is open our 2 core Gins only at this stage our London Dry and Ginger and Lemongrass Gin will both be available to order online on a tab on the website www.alchymiadistillery.com  so if you have run out of your favourite Alchymia Distillery Gin and can’t make it to the tasting room then head online.

Well that’s all we have for this update, we look forward to seeing you soon and

Thanks again for your support !!

Cheers & hope to see you soon

Sarah & MPH
