Alchymia Distillery Newsletter December 2025

by | Dec 9, 2025

Hello Spirit Lovers,

Well 2025 will shortly come to a close and it has been a busy year in the distillery. We have welcomed over 2,500 visitors to the tasting room and another 9 ‘Alchemists’ have made their own whisky with us, filled their casks and joined our little whisky family.

Amazing Whisky Continues to flow

We are very excited to announce our next Series of releases following on from the “Exordium series”. “Familia Series” will be a Series of 8 different casks to reflect the 8 very different personalities and characters of our beautiful nephews.

Familia – Latin for Family

Welcome to the Familia Series a tribute to the bonds that shape us. Each Single Malt Single Cask Whisky in this series celebrates one of our beloved nephews – unique in character, true in spirit. Handcrafted with care at Alchymia Distillery, these whiskies honour family, heritage and the stories we share.

Series I – Isaac (my baby brothers middle child) is a beautiful robust Ruby Port cask Whisky, which will be presented at 50% ABV and will be available from Friday 19th December just in time for Christmas!!

Series II – Guy (MPH’s Little Sisters youngest) is a gentle sweet Madeira cask Whisky which will be released early January.

Highlights for 2025

The Cove Tasmania – Basalt Restaurant – House Gin & Vodka Project

We were delighted to develop a house Gin & house Vodka with Kurt, Kim & Bruce Robinson from the Cove Tasmania released under their own brand “Lillico Spirits” it will be served in their new restaurant Basalt at Lillico nr Devonport. Spending time on their property foraging botanicals from their property was great fun, from seaweed to coastal plants some of the recipes were questionable to say the least but after 4 months in development we were delighted to present a White Correa infused Gin & heavy citrus Vodka “Born of the coast forged in stone”.  Bruce & Kurt also joined us in September and laid down their very own cask of Lillico Spirits Whisky!

What an amazing collaboration for us to be working on into the future our brands truly align and the back bar looks amazing!!

TrailGraze

The TrailGraze event saw record numbers join us for Gin & Oysters and Whisky & Cheese pairings. The amazing Tarkine Oysters and La Cantara Cheese joined us at the distillery and the sun came out in all its glory!

Permission to Trespass

Year 3 was an amazing collection of events put on by 13 local businesses and supported strongly this year by the local council, with a great street party in Wynyard, to kick off  the July festival with a great turn out of locals and interstate visitors. PTT will be back in 2026 and hopefully it will go from strength to strength!

Tulip Festival 2025

Well I never made it to the Glastonbury Festival in the UK, but this year Wynyard had similar vibes with ankle deep mud and sunshine and showers. The community came out in force! You brave bunch!!

Happy end of another year to you all!!

A huge thank you to everyone who has visited, supported, and followed us through year 4 of our adventure!! We hope that you have a safe and happy end to 2025 and that 2026 brings you whatever makes you happy.

Cheers
